Raheem

My final day in India was spent back at work where I had a very busy day.  It started at 9AM and ended around midnight.  The work portion started at 9AM and ended at 10 30.  Unfortunately there was no lunch that day, but I did have a nice dinner with some of my colleagues.

When I got back to the hotel around 10 30 that night, I had to finish my packing and was just about to go to bed when... I got a call from a friend.

On all of my previous trips I have had the same driver.   A very nice man named Raheem.  Raheem and I have become personal friends over the last few years.  I have eaten at his home and he has eaten with Moses and I many times.  Unfortunately my company has changed car companies and we use a different firm now.  It meant that I did not have Raheem on this trip as my driver.

Due to the hectic schedule I did not think I was even going to see him, though I had spoken to him briefly over the phone.  As it turned out I did get to see him on Monday night for about 20 minutes.  He had a person he had dropped off at my hotel, so he took the chance that I might be available and gave me a call.  Sure enough I was and I got to go down and visit with him for a moment.

Two prayer requests:  One Raheem is a Muslim, but I hope to see him in the Kingdom.  Two Raheem has hurt his neck badly and having trouble with it.  There is no real choice but to keep working. If he takes times off for healing, he does not get paid.  And he already does not get paid much.
